Angel Beats

The first anime I ever watched was called Angel Beats. It was pretty good. For some reason that I'll never know I can always remember the name of the main character in Angel Beats, but I have the worst time remembering anyone else's name in any other anime. Even the other characters of Angel Beats, I can't remember their names. I know Otanashi, is the main character though. It's weird. Otanashi wakes up in the afterlife. There are other kids who take him in and explain what's going on. Everyone has something keeping them there, and they have missions to preoccupy themselves. Anyways I thought it was full of feels and had a interesting plot. There were even a few funny characters, like "Christ" and "God". It had a nice ending and was actions packed in general. It's strange to think about dying as a teenager and going to a school in the afterlife. Seems more like hell to me. It's a good anime to watch, especially for people new to anime like I was.

Win-Win

So, as posted previously, I do not have cable. I cannot watch some shows that I really like, unless I find them on the internet. The main show that I regret missing is Legend of Korra. One day I went to the new gym in our area with my mom. It was the first time I had gone. I discovered something amazing about this gym. The ellipticals, treadmills, and cycling machines all had built in TV's. All you had to do was plug in headphones, and tune in to any channel you wanted to. It is not cable, but the TV directory showed that Nickelodeon was available. This means,,,I CAN WATCH LEGEND OF KORRA. When the third book starts back up I can go to the gym at the time when it's on. It's a win-win situation. I can work out and watch Legend of Korra. I'm really excited.

Issue of Bullying

So every six months or so our school pulls us from class for a lyceum on bullying that discusses the effects and how to overcome it. I think these are necessary, because bullying is a real problem. But I also think that sometimes people really over-react to little things. If one kid says something insulting to another, it's very likely that the parents will be told and the first child will be in trouble. Even if the words weren't meant to be mean, nothing can be said without people taking it the wrong way. I think there is a line between bullying and a person just having no tact in speaking. Basically, don't bully and don't be an over-reacting tattle tail.

A Thousand Splendid Suns

For my college literature class, I have to read a book called, A Thousand Splendid Suns. I started out okay, it was only a little pitiful. As the story went on, though, it just got more and more depressing. I haven't finished it yet, but I think I see where this is going. It is well written, and interesting to see how life is in Afghanistan. I don't care for the book, really, and I'll probably never read it again. I am glad to be able to say that I have read it once though. So, if you come across this book, you should read it, but be prepared for a depressing story. I'll update later with my thoughts after I have finished the book.

Down The Rabbit Hole

Korra has entered the spirit world, and all is going well, for a few seconds. Korra and Jenora become separated very early and all because of a pack of annoying talking mirror cats. Korra really isn't very sensitive to the feelings of the spirits, not like Aang. She was funny though, especially when she was suddenly a pot-bellied child again. I was so happy to see Iro again. It was unexpected and he always gives the wisest advice to the Avatars. That damn owl, Wan Shi Tong, has always been a jerk. He thinks himself so self-righteous, and even though he has soooo much knowledge, he doesn't want to share it to better the world. At least in The Last Airbender, he let team avatar use the library as long as it wasn't to harm others. Now with Jenora he just went and tattled to Unalaq. Jerk. I was dissapointed that Korra didn't become more skilled with her revelation on how the spirits operate. She still can't hold a candle to Unalaq's skill. The great battle is nearing though. I think, now that Korra is back in the human world (but without Jenora) she will travel back to the south spirit portal. She can go in with her bending, and save Jenora and beat Unalaq and most likely have an epic battle with Vatu. I am greatly looking forward to it. Let's not even talk about the betrayal of Furry Foot, it's too painful.

Gone With The Wind

I am currently reading Gone With The Wind. It's a really long story, but also pretty interesting. Scarlet (the main character) is a beautiful, selfish, and smart girl. She is very shallow and everything she does is to help herself. I can admire her determination as she goes through hard times, and I do like it when she succeeds. Some people may really hate her because of her attitude. This book is supposedly known as the greatest love story ever written. I do not see it as a love story really. I think it's more of a history story that focuses on one person. At times it can be a bit boring, but something will eventually happen to spice the story up. It didn't end the way I wanted it to, but it leaves a lot to imagination after the ending, which I kind of like.

Legend of Korra: Spirits, Spirits, Spirits

So, our hero Korra has lost her memory. At this point she really doesn't matter anymore. It's all about Wan, the first Avatar and his story. We learn all about what happened with the spirit world and why things are all crazy now. The spirit of light is one with the Avatar, which means it's up to Korra to defeat the evil spirits and Unalaq. She's feeling powerful now that she knows the truth. Korra is ready to return and kick butt. I hope we get to see Zuko soon, and learn what happened to his ma. The plot is thickening, and soon to get exciting. I'm mad that there's still so much drama between Mako and Korra. Just make it work you two.

Rare Creativity

www.thecreativepenn.com
A friend of mine is writing a pretty cool story. It was for a class but she decided to keep going and make a novel out of it. It's pretty good and who knows, maybe someday it will be published and I can say I was one of the first to read the original story. Anyways I read her story and it inspired me to write a story of my own. I'm a pretty good spontaneous writer, I don't plan my stories out I just write what I think sounds good and let the story line flow. I don't ever expect this to become anything, it's sorta just something to do when I don't want to pay attention in class. I write another few paragraphs. I have five pages types so far and I'm no where near done. This is going to be a year long project.

WHAT IF?!?!

WHAT IF EVERYONE'S EYES WERE THE SAME COLOR AS THEIR BIRTHSTONE!?!?!?!?!?!?! THAT WOULD MAKE ME SO HAPPY.

Seriously took me 2 days to put this picture together, but it looks so cool.

Jon Snow

Jon is one of the Game of Thrones characters that I'm rooting for. It bugs me sometimes when he acts overly sorry for himself for being a bastard. Just cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it. He is what he is and he needs to work his butt off because someday he's going to be great. I don't want him stuck at the wall his whole life though. He needs to go join Rob and fight and become a great commander. He's good at making the right friends I think. Kinda off topic, but I want Arya to make it to the wall instead of Winterfell and join Jon. She was born to fight, not be some lady and marry a dumb Fey. When Jon was trying to run away the whole time I was thinking "NO the shit storm is coming and it's coming from the north not the south!! GO BACK!!" Thankfully his friends were brave enough to drag his dumb butt back. Now he'll see. He's north of the Wall and shit is going down. I bet Benjin is a White Walker and Jon will find him and maybe have to kill him.

“I NEVER SAID THAT!!”
“The beaten and the damned”
“YOU’RE GONNA BE BEATEN!!”
“He said, Will you defeat them,”
“I NEVER SAID THAT!!!”
“Your demons, and all the non-believers,”
“WOULD YOU STOP”
“The plans that they have made?
“STOP!!!”
“Because one day I’ll leave you,”
“I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!! GO BUY AN APARTMENT!!”
“A phantom to lead you in the summer,”
“THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE"
“To join the Black Parade.”

Washington DC

I got involved in my school's history club during my 9th grade year. Members of history club had the opportunity to go to Washington DC. We went for a week for a reasonable price. I went with people from my own grade and at least one person from every grade above. There were about 15 of us, counting my history teacher who took us. It was really cool to see all the monuments and museums. Cool, sad, humbling, and moving all at the same time. I admit I shed a tear or two in the 9/11 museum, and looking at the black wall. The Washington Monument was amazing, we went all the way to the top. We walked the monuments during the day and later the same day at night so we could see all the monuments lit up. I was a little disapointed, because the reflecting pool at the base of the Washington Monument was being renovated so it was all dug up. It ruined pictures that would have been great.

A Week in France

I spent a week in England and after that it was off to France for another week. I saw a lot of the popular sites again. Eiffel Tower and even a real castle. I went to a European Renaissance Festival, that was cool, we stayed in tents on the castle grounds. I can't remember the castle unfortunately, I went to both Warwick and Windsor, and I'm not sure which I stayed at.

Korra in Spirit Land

KORRA IS BACK GUYS!!! It's time for Korra to start mastering her spiritual side. This came pretty easy for Aang, but will Korra be able to make a connection with them as he could? She is doing great with air bending but I don't think she should have stopped training with Tenzin. Unalaq seemed shady from the beginning. Korra shouldn't be so hard on the people who have looked after her all her life. They care about her and shouldn't smother her, but I have a bad feeling that something's going to happen to make her really sorry she didn't listen to her dad and Tenzin. I seriously love Eska and her lines, "You amuse me, you will be mine. Don't worry, I'll protect you my little turtle-duck." Hahaha, and it's all so monotone. Her brother's just kind of there though. I with Korra would have laid off of Mako, he was being nice and she just kept freaking out. I feel so bad for Korra's dad, Tonraq, he made a mistake and was banished from his home, he could have been chief instead of his creepy brother. Korra defiantly had a different approach to dealing with spirits than Aang. He would talk and reason, she just fights them. Unalaq is a suppressor, I can feel it, he's gonna try and dominate the South tribe, and I think there's more to this portal thing than what Korra was told. Unalaq probably controls spirits with his bending. Water benders are suddenly becoming scary.

Frustration!!!!

I don't have cable so even through Legend of Korra premiered to night I can't watch it till it is put up online. I want to see. Grrrrrrr. I hope it's as great as I think it should be. RAWR!!!! I hope they put it up soon.

My Trip to England

When I was 12, I was accepted into People to People. This program allows kids to travel to other countries and see the sites. I went to England and France, each for a week. This post will be about my England experience. I saw all the usual sites that people see when they go, Big Ben, the theater, Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, etc. I won't bore you with details, so here's some pictures taken with all my 12 year old professionalism. You may notice I went to Wicked, It was a wonderful play with a great twist on the traditional Wizard of Oz.

Sansa

So Sansa seriously pisses me off for most of the first book/season. She puts that little prick Joffery before herself, her family, and her common sense. He is so obviously a spoiled jerk right from the beginning and yet when asked to report of the events with the butchers boy and Arya, she lied, and look where it got her. Her direwolf killed. Still she blames Arya, and swoons for the little blond brat. She has a hand in getting her father killed I feel, just a little. I know she's young, naive, and in love, but come on the doesn't get the hint that Joffery is a slimy twit til a while after he kills her father. She cares so little for her younger sister too. Arya dissapears, does she worry? No, just assumes she's save at Winterfell. I will give her some credit though, now that she's all alone in Kingslanding with no family and she isn't googoo eyes for Joff, she is handling herself very well. Playing Joff almost now, though probably just to save her own life. I do hope she makes it out alive, she made me mad at the beginning, but I'm rooting for her now that she has her head out of the clouds.

Dane Cook

I personally think Dane Cook is one of the funniest people out there. He is inappropriate most of the time, but very funny. And it's the best kind of funny, the funny that tells it like it is, but makes real life shit seem funny and bearable. He has an interesting way of looking at situations. I think he has great material and energy. He's relateable too. I feel like he just comes up with the perfect reactions to every situation in life. If you haven't seen any of his youtube videos, go watch some, hilarious, but not for little kids. Just so you know. Some of his material is more for adults. He may seem like kind of a jerk to some but I think it's just an act that he knows most of his audience wants to see. He's good enough to have live shows in front of a lot of people. I, personally, would go see one of his shows live. He's also pretty hot in a rugged sort of way. For your enjoyment here's a quick example.

My Travels

I enjoy traveling quite a bit. I like to go to new places and see all the cool shit they have that my tiny town lacks. I think for my age I've been to quite a few places that most people never see in their lives. My goal is to visit all the continents. So far I've been to two continents, including North America of coarse. I have been to England, France, and Mexico. Every place was a great experience. I also want to go to every state. I've been to 26 so far. This page will be dedicated to my travels.

Game of Thrones: The books and TV show

I have begun reading the Game of Thrones books. I was on the second book by the time I started watching the TV series. My first opinion is that everyone annoys me except a handful of people who I'm rooting for. I was very pleased with how well the show followed the book, any differences were extremely small. So far. My hope on the overall turn-out for this messed up saga of the doomed is that Dany sweeps through and takes control of the southern kingdoms while the Starks hold and rule in the north. I'm pretty sure I will be dissapointed, but I can dream. I have high hopes for the underdogs like John Snow and Arya Stark. I'm a bit concerned about Rob, he is getting cocky. I have no desire for either Stannis or Renly to rule. Stannis is a prick and Renly seems like he would end up just like Robert. He likes winning the crown but as soon as he gets it he will become lethargic, vulnerable, and vulnerable. I'm also worried that Dany will go and do something rash. She's letting her dragony power go to her head. Was anyone else a little freaked that her baby was born looking like a dragon? The child was destined to die the moment Drogo got sick. Either way it would have died, either by the new khal killing it or (as it happened) it was sacrificed make Drogo a vegetable. I look forward to new developments.

Update on life and Legend of Korra

I feel that I have made a grave mistake. I am currently taking 5 (FIVE) college classes in high school. A horrid mistake. I feel I can hardly keep up. In other news Legend of Korra, Book 2 premiers on Friday the 13th. FRIDAY THE 13TH. Great show. I happen to be born on a Friday the 13th, I now feel a special connection with Korra. Anyways this season is going to be dedicated to Korra mastering her more spiritual side. New characters will be introduced and we may finally learn all there is to know about the world of Avatar. I personally ship Mako and Korra (please no blowing holes in my ship). I feel Bolin should end up with someone later, just not Korra. A friend of mine ships Tahno the wolf-bat with EVERYONE, but especially Asami, because their babies would have fabulous hair.

Salutations

Hello, I am the Phantom. I lead a life of fandoms, phasing from one to the next. I like books, anime, movies, TV shows, and comics. So yes I'm not a creepy, dark, gothic, Phantom, no I'm the nerdy Phantom. I will write about anything that pops into my head that I feel should be shared with the world. If you don't like my opinions then by all means get off my blog and don't let the computer crash on your way out. If you enjoy reading cool stuff, then welcome to the Phantom's Domain.
